My friend Louis

Thought I would repost this on Louis' 59th birthday.  Yikes.  Feel this even more strongly than when I wrote this back in 2009.  Happy Birthday to Lou!

I have never known anyone like Louis Hejtmanek. From that very first day of our freshman year at Aggieland we connected and literally have been friends for life. In our four years as roommates at Davis Gary dorm, friends and partners in crime, we lived a lifetime of adventures and certainly created a lifetime of stories that our families, friends, inlaws and outlaws have heard now for over thirty years! And although embellished over the years, the essence of the stories are absolutely true, whether it be the armadillos set lose in our dorm mates room, the champagne fiasco with Randi Mays, the tennis ball cannon firing away in the quad and hitting the one legged girl [affectionately called "Peg"], and literally hundreds and hundreds of others. All of those experiences after this length of time have formed a collage of happy memories that span those four years, and every time I see Louis, talk to him, or more recently email, all of this comes real again.

So even though I havent said it often enough over the nearly thirty five years I have known him [and Frank Sr, Alice, Debra, Frank Jr, Andrew and Bethany and the rest of the Hejtmanek gang] Louis and his whole family have been an amazing blessing in my life, and I trust will be for many years more.
