Washington, DC
I visited Washington DC this week to meet with some legislators, attend a conference and meet with the lobbyists for the Hospital. This is the first time I have been to DC since the inauguration and its amazing the changes that have taken place in the city. I have told many that asked about my Inauguration experiences what an incredible [and cold] adventure that was. I have never been around so many hopeful and happy people and probably never will be again. In the ensuing months that hopefulness has been replaced by the stark reality of the political process and just what a mess everything is in. And whatever bipartisanship might have existed during the President's first few days has been replaced by the extreme partisanship that has marked the last couple of decades.
